Your Way services are being delivered in partnership with Young People Cornwall, Xenzone-KOOTH, Penwith Community Development Trust and Volunteer Cornwall and will be jointly designed, developed and managed with young people.

Through Community Development, communities will be provided with practical, on the ground support and training enabling them to set up and develop their own resources, activities and quality youth provision. This will both meet the needs of young people and their communities, and more importantly, increase and further improve outcomes for young people. Young People’s Reference groups will run across Cornwall to ensure their voices are heard at parish, town and city council levels, enabling them to influence local, county and national decisions. For further information please contact Bernie Wills at PCDT on 01736 334679 or Kate Smith at Young People Cornwall on 01872 222447.

A flexible, responsive and easily accessible Information and Advice service will be delivered through a variety of means and settings including regular drop in sessions, telephone enquiry services, online information resources, outreach services, and extended mobile service provisions within local communities, in order to address issues of rural isolation and further reduce barriers to engagement. This service will expand and build on the previous SHARE service.

For further information please contact the team at Young People Cornwall on 01872 222447.

Young people will have access to a suite of counselling and mentoring services that will be delivered both online and through face to face services, along with additional peer-led mentoring services through groups. The service will be flexible and responsive to meet local demand, and improve young people’s emotional resilience and mental well-being.

For further information please call 0845 3307090 (find out about call charges) and ask to speak to the Cornwall KOOTH office.

Lastly a Timebanking project will be set up for, and with, young people to earn credits through volunteering in youth groups, community centres, residents associations, village halls etc which they will then be able to spend on activities of their choice, eg paintballing, surfing, swimming, cinema trips or attractions. Young people will drive the project based on their needs and aspirations and will work closely with the Community Development teams.

For further information please contact Terry at Volunteer Cornwall on 07866 536735

Your Way services are now available across Cornwall, with ‘activity hubs’ in west, mid and east Cornwall, all offering access to a wide range of services. Young people have played a major part in the design of these services and will continue to be involved in the development of them. There will also be a range of volunteering opportunities and apprenticeships for young people within these projects so please look out for these and pass them on through your networks.
