Signs of Safety is part of the core curriculum for all frontline staff in Children and Family Services (CFS) and a requirement for progression under the integrated career and qualification pathway.

All frontline CFS staff are able to access the 2 day basic training in Signs of Safety which is available on a quarterly basis.

In addition, a program of enhanced skills training days in Signs of Safety is available for people who have completed the 2 day training, covering specific aspects of the approach or focussing on particular areas of application. These sessions are open to all CFS workers however if enhanced skills training days are oversubscribed managers, supervisors, enhanced practitioners and Signs of Safety Practice Leaders are prioritised.

If you would like an enhanced skills day to focus on a specific aspect of Signs of Safety practice of particular interest to you, please email with details of your enquiry.

Whilst CFS staff are prioritised, professionals from contracted services and partner agencies  are welcome to attend the 2 day basic training if places are available.  In order to benefit from this training, multi agency partners are expected to have completed a Level 3 Multi Agency Child Protection full day course.
