Development Plan Documents

This page contains information on Development Plan Documents (other than the Cornwall Local Plan: Strategic Policies document) that are currently being prepared.

Development Plan Documents (DPD) will set out Cornwall Council’s planning policies and proposals. They are subject to community and stakeholder involvement and independent examination. The following DPD are in preparation:

  • Allocations DPD: this document will allocate sites to meet the housing provision identified in the Strategic Policies document for the main Cornwall towns and to allocate a range of suitable sites to meet the scale and type of retail, leisure, commercial, office, tourism, cultural, community and residential development needed in town centres. An Allocations scoping consultation for this document has been undertaken.
  • Minerals Safeguarding DPD: this document sets out non-strategic policy and site allocations including those for safeguarding. A Minerals Safeguarding scoping consultation for this document has been undertaken.
  • Travelling Communities Site Allocations: this document will allocate sites to meet the needs of Travelling Communities as identified in the Cornwall Local Plan: Strategic Policies document. A Scoping Report consultation is currently underway until the 6th June 2016.
