The Cornwall Local Plan was formally adopted on 22 November 2016. It provides a positive and flexible overarching planning policy framework for Cornwall for the period up to 2030.

The plan was submitted to the Secretary of State in February 2015 for examination. The inspector’s report was published in September 2016. The Inspector’s recommended main modifications have been included in the adopted plan.

The Secretary of State appointed Inspector Simon Emerson BSc DipTP MRTPI. The inspector conducts the examination into the compliance and soundness of the Cornwall Local Plan.
