This page contains information on the documentation and Proposed Changes to the Adopted Policies Maps that made up this stage, the consultation carried out and the progress this document made through the Cornwall Council Committee structure.

The Cornwall Local Plan: Strategic Policies Proposed Submission Draft 2010-2030 has been amended to reflect comments received during it's consultation in March and April 2014 and since. This has resulted in a number of changes to the original document which can be found in the 'Schedule of Focused Changes to the Cornwall Local Plan: Strategic Policies Proposed Submission Draft March 2014' - please note this is a large document (6mb) and it may be easier to download as part 1, part 2 and part 3.

Accompanying the consultation on the Schedule of Focused Changes to the Strategic Policies Proposed Submission document are the:

The ‘Adopted Local Plan Policies Map’ is currently made up of the adopted Local Plan proposals maps of the former districts of Penwith, Carrick, North Cornwall and Caradon, and Borough of Restormel, plus the Cornwall Minerals and Waste Local Plans, and can be viewed by clicking on the relevant link. The former district of Kerrier did not adopt a local plan.

All designations for policies that will be replaced by the Cornwall Local Plan will be removed from the Local Plan Policies Map. Designations for policies that will continue to be saved will remain part of the Local Plan Policies Map after adoption. The lists of Local Plan Policies that will be retained or deleted are shown in the following links for Caradon policies, Carrick policies, North Cornwall policies, Penwith policies, Restormel Part 1 and Restormel Part 2, Minerals Local Plan and Waste Local Plan. The notations to which these refer can be viewed by clicking on the relevant former Local Plan proposals maps as described in the first paragaraph above.

In addition, the Cornwall Local Plan Submission Policies Map identifies Town Centre, Prime Shopping Area and Prime Shopping Frontage boundaries for the main towns and new allocations of the eco communities. These were included in the Pre Submission Draft Local Plan March 2013 and omitted from the Proposed Submission Draft Local Plan March 2014. This Map also shows some of the key environmental designations mentioned in the Cornwall Local Plan.
