We would like to seek your views about the future of our Planning Committees.

In 2021 for the new administration of Cornwall Council there will be fewer Councillors, a reduction from 123 to 87, therefore the council is looking at its governance structure and various committees across the organisation.

We would be interested to get your feedback about Planning Committees.

Following early engagement with Cornwall Councillors, a prefered option has been developed which involves 3 Sub-Area Planning Committees

  • East (Bodmin)
  • Central (Truro and St Austell)
  • West (Camborne and Penzance)

meeting once a month, with a total of 11 Members on each Committee. In addition there will be a Strategic Planning Committee, which will sit when necessary and be made up of 11 Members from the other three Sub-Area Committees.

The survey is aimed at Town and Parish Councils, Planning Agents, Applicants, Members of the Public and anyone else who has experienced planning committees.
