St Mewan Parish Neighbourhood Development plan is now formally made. It can be used from 4 June 2018, as part of the development plan in development management decisions in the St Mewan Neighbourhood Plan Area. The made neighbourhood plan, report and decision notice are available to download below:

The St Mewan NDP Referendum was held on 26 April 2018. The plan was successful at referendum and the result was:

  • Number cast in favour of a 'Yes': 633
  • Number cast in favour of a 'No': 57

The St Mewan Parish Neighbourhood Development Plan was submitted for examination. It was submitted on 13th December 2017. The independent examiner appointed to carry out the examination was Deborah McCann.

On 30th January 2018, Cornwall Council received the Examiner's report on the St Mewan Neighbourhood Development Plan. The Examiner's report concludes that subject to the modifications in the report, the Plan should proceed to referendum. The examination report and amended Neighbourhood Plan is available to view below:

Cornwall Council consulted residents and other interested stakeholders on the plan for the St Mewan Parish area. The consultation ran from 25th October to 6th December 2017.

The plan proposal included:

  • a copy of a map and statement which identifies the area to which the proposed Neighbourhood Development Plan relates
  • a consultation statement
  • the proposed Neighbourhood Development Plan; and a statement explaining how the proposed Neighbourhood Development Plan meets the requirements of paragraph 8 of Schedule 4B to the 1990 Act (the Basic Conditions Statement)

Copies of the documents were available to view using the online planning register. (Planning number PA17/00030/NDP). Hard copies were also available to view at:

  • Sticker Post Office
  • Polgooth Post Office and
  • Trewoon Post Office

St Mewan Parish Council submitted an application and map to designation their Neighbourhood Area. This was submitted on 12 November 2013. Cornwall Council consulted residents and other interested stakeholders on the designation. The consultation ran between 27 November 2013 and 8 January 2014. Copies of the application letter and statement were available to view during the six week consultation period. The statement explains how the Parish Council and Neighbourhood Area met the conditions of Section 61G(2) of the Town And Country Planning Act 1990.
