Crowan Parish Council agreed to develop a Neighbourhood Plan for the Crowan area. This was agreed at a Parish Council Meeting held on 12 December 2013. This webpage provides you with information on the Crowan Neighbourhood Development Plan.

Crowan Parish Neighbourhood Development plan is now formally made. This can be used from 18th September 2019 as part of the development plan in development management decisions in the Crowan Neighbourhood Plan Area. The adopted neighbourhood plan, report and decision notice is available to download below:

Crowan Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) was successful at referendum on Thursday 22 August 2019 and the result was:

  • Number cast in favour of 'Yes': 322
  • Number cast in favour of 'No':  49

The independent Examiner appointed to examine the Crowan Neighbourhood Plan was Barbara Maksymiw. The documents were sent to the examiner on 26 February 2019 to start the examination.

On 8 May 2019, Cornwall Council received the Examiner's report on the Crowan Neighbourhood Development Plan. The Examiner's report concludes that subject to the modifications in the report, the Plan should proceed to referendum. Examination Q&A March 2019

Crowan Parish Council has submitted their plan proposal to Cornwall Council for their designated Neighbourhood Development Plan Area, in accordance with the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended).

Cornwall Council is consulting residents and other interested stakeholders on the plan for the Crowan Parish area. Consultation will run  for six weeks from Thursday 10 January to 21 February 2019. You can comment by emailing us at neighbourhoodplanning@cornwall.gov.uk, by typing the Neighbourhood Planning application number PA19/00003/NDP into the online planning register, or send us your response in writing to the address below.

The plan proposal includes a copy of a map and statement which identifies the area to which the proposed Neighbourhood Development Plan relates; a consultation statement; the proposed Neighbourhood Development Plan and a statement explaining how the proposed Neighbourhood Development Plan meets the requirements of paragraph 8 of Schedule 4B to the 1990 Act (the Basic Conditions Statement).

Crowan Parish Council submitted an application and map to designation their Neighbourhood Area. This was submitted on 30 January 2014. Cornwall Council consulted residents and other interested stakeholders on the designation. The consultation ran between 6 February and 20 March 2014. Copies of the application letter and statement were made available to view during the six week consultation. The statement explains how the Parish Council and Neighbourhood Area met the conditions of Section 61G(2) of the Town And Country Planning Act 1990.
