Visitors to Bosinver Farm Cottages near St Austell can enjoy their woodland and lake area. The lake is home to frogs, toads, fish, moorhens, ducks and the occasional heron on the lookout for a free meal!. In Spring and Summer the lake is fringed with wildflowers such as ragged robin and the impressive yellow flag iris.

In this short video filmed at Bosinver, Chris Ayres from Buglife talks about how to create healthy pond life. He explains how Bosinver have planted reed beds and reduced fish stocks to clear organic matter and create a good environment for invertebrates.

Outdoor play is encouraged at Bosinver through their Wild Kids club which is run by Forest school teachers and aims to connect children with the countryside.

They manage the land organically and have created wildflower meadows. They aim to engage guests with nature by providing displays about local wildlife, guide books and opportunities to interact with the animals – interested families are even given the chance to raise Bosinver ducklings and chicks!
