There are many other ways you can make Cornwall a better place without even leaving the comfort of your sofa!
It’s not just about rolling your sleeves up and getting in the garden, for Cornwall to become a greener, happy, healthier place for wildlife and people we need to get the message out there.
We need people, whispering, talking and shouting about the environment. Knowledge is power so it’s time to start letting people know.
If you'd like a copy of these activities to keep, you can download our Armchair Activism Activity Cards here!
Here are some ways you can help;
Join a local wildlife or conservation group
Join one of Cornwall’s wildlife or conservation charity’s or donate money to support their work.
Sharing is caring
Share environmental messages with friends, family and followers via social media or start an online blog.
Contact your local decision-makers about environmental issues that matter to you.
Contact food retailers
Contact your food retailers for information about food sourcing, production and waste policies.
Campaign to get rid of single use plastics
Lobby your work place, school, local shop or supermarket to phase out single use plastics.
Inspire others to get out into nature
Recommend your favourite wild walks or wild places to visit and encourage others to do the same.
Promote nature in the local press
Write/publish articles about nature for your local community or parish magazine, school or work newsletter.
Keep up to date with local and national environmental issues, publications and campaigns. Keep an eye out for local workshops and environmental events.
Lobby gardening and DIY outlets
Lobby gardening and DIY outlets to get pesticides, peat and artificial grass taken off their shelves. Ask them to promote wildlife friendly, native plants instead.
Why not take a look at how others are growing nature.
