Camborne Pool Redruth Air Quality

Monitoring of air quality in Camborne has been taking place for a number of years. The Council legally declared an Air Quality Management Area covering the CPR regeneration area in 2005. An action plan of measures to improve air quality was published, which has recently been reviewed as part of the Clean Air for Cornwall Strategy.

  • West End/Penryn Street, Redruth
  • Trefusis Junction. Redruth. 

Exceedences are for the annual mean target for nitrogen dioxide. The biggest source of nitrogen dioxide is the exhaust gases from cars and lorries. This is the air pollutant that Councils most commonly monitor.

The Council is monitoring levels in the areas of Wesley Street and Roskear to identify any changes in air quality from the new East-West link road.
