Report abandoned vehicles online
Due to the Covid-19 outbreak we are unable to investigate reports of abandoned vehicles at this time. We will record instances of abandoned vehicles but we will be unable to follow-up on these until such time as Covid-19 related restrictions have been eased.
If you believe a vehicle is abandoned and it is on the highway, has no road tax and has not been moved for a while (3 weeks or more), you can report it to us by using this form.
Before reporting the vehicle:
Vehicles no longer display the tax in the windscreen but could still be taxed. Please use the gov.uk/check-vehicle-tax website to see if the vehicle has current tax
- Could the owner be away or has the vehicle broken down?
- Have you spoken to the neighbours as they may know who the vehicle belongs to?
- Is the vehicle secure?
- Is there significant damage?
For more information please see our Abandoned Vehicles page.
