Emma Phillips, Head of Service, Cornwall Virtual School

‘A very warm welcome to our Virtual School web site. I am very proud to be the Head of this School. I am part of a team of committed, enthusiastic and amazing people. They are all ready to help and support all of you. When you need it! We are a Virtual School. This means we don’t have a physical building. We do help to support the education of our children in care in Cornwall. And any previously looked after children. We have nearly 2000 children in our Virtual School. We work very closely with Foster carers, parents, schools, health and social care to make sure all our children get the best chance and opportunities in their education. We want the very best for our children! We are committed to safeguarding our children. This ensures the health, safety and emotional wellbeing of every child in our schools. We aim to do all we can to support our carers, schools, nurses and social workers to achieve this for our children. We were Inspected in October 2019 and received an ‘Outstanding’ grade for the work we do. We endeavour to maintain this grade! We encourage all of you to share your views and thoughts on our service and where we can get better at things and where the service works well.’
