As part of the Accessibility Strategy an Accessibility Audit and an example Accessibility Plan and Template has been produced in consultation with stakeholders.

Cornwall Council’s vision is for all children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to:

  • have access to inclusive learning,
  • be given opportunities to realise their aspirations,
  • achieve their potential and
  • participate fully in education and the wider society.

The Cornwall Accessibility Strategy sets out how the Local Authority will realise this vision through the following priorities:

  • ensuring compliance
  • maximising inclusion and the feeling of inclusion
  • increasing the extent to which children and young people with SEND can participate in the curriculum,
  • improving the physical environment of all educational settings
  • enhancing the delivery of information, advice and guidance to all children and young people with SEND and their families.
