Consultation on Term Dates for 2020/21 and 2021/22
The Council is consulting on proposed term dates for Community and Voluntary Controlled schools for the academic years 2020/21 and 2021/22.
- Cornwall Term Dates 2020-21 (draft for consultation)
- Cornwall Term Dates 2021-22 (draft for consultation)
These dates would apply to all Community and Voluntary Controlled schools in Cornwall. Foundation, Trust, Voluntary Aided schools and Academies are able to set their own term dates. However, these dates are recommended to all schools in order to promote consistency across the county.
Each academic year includes 195 school days. Schools will open to pupils for 190 days, with the remaining five reserved for In-Service Training (INSET) days to be allocated by individual schools.
The proposed dates have been discussed with other south west local authorities and we believe offer good consistency with our closest neighbours.
Comments on the proposed term dates should be submitted to email@example.com by Friday 15 February 2019.
In service training (INSET) days are taken during school time and are used by schools to provide staff training without pupils being present. Maintained scchools are permitted to take five INSET Days during each academic year. Please contact individual schools for their distribution of INSET days.
