"Neil Griffiths is a children’s author, former primary school Head Teacher, inspirational trainer and creator of the Storysack along with many other award-winning resources for children. To celebrate Libraries Week, he tells us why he believes primary school libraries are so important."

A no nonsense statement has been released by Mr Griffiths in regards to the decline in library provision in primary schools.

"Many schools have replaced their library with additional I.T. suites and many others have allowed them to decline into a dingy, infrequently visited dumping ground with outdated reading material, ugly shelving and dirty moth-eaten matting on the floor"

We have produced this quick help sheet to print and put up in your library to help your teachers and students in regard to our books and the AR scheme.

We have had a number of visits from numerous schools in the county, such as Indian Queens

As you can see they all had a great time looking for books, visiting the pink box area and having story time read to them by their teachers on the rugs

As the title states all are welcome, all we need is a call first to say how many will be attending and how long you intend spending. Some days we do have to close the doors to have time to sort the project boxes. Due to space and H&S we like to try to keep the number of visitors under 35 (staff and pupils combined) per visit

Obviously there are more titles to choose from than the van and you can peruse at your comparative leisure. The library area is in a secure building with access to water, tea/coffee making facilities and toilet facilities (suitable for disabled use). There is also an enclosed courtyard ideal for ‘cool off’ periods for pupils with need of such facilities

We have uploaded pictures of all our museum loans to help with your selection. Please let us know what other photos you would like to see on this site.

The discount on buying books through Education Library Service is 25% (plus 40p for jacket and date labels etc).  Next time you want to buy books for your school please contact us to book a visit to our showroom or we can supply a login to our bookseller's website.
