Transitions and return to school post Covid-19

Following the ten week period of following government advice to stay home, protect the NHS and save lives, schools have recently been issued with a set of procedures to follow so that some children can go back. The government guidance to opening schools can be found here. At the moment, the priority is pupils who are transitioning - Reception Class, Year 1 and Year 6. Schools have been asked to offer face to face support to Years 10 and 12, to prepare them for exams.

Transitions are often a difficult time for children and young people. We have heard from educational psychologists that this is an incredibly tough time. Bringing with it anxieties and frustrations none of us could have prepared for. We are incredibly proud of the effort across Cornwall from parents. carers, young people and children, to observe the guidelines laid out.
