CLO2 Winter moorland walking leader assessment

Who is the course aimed at?

For those who wish to lead groups in winter conditions on moorland day walks.  Suited to those who aspire to managing Duke of Edinburgh awards and Ten Tors training teams. 

This one-day assessment will include navigation in poor visibility, route planning and risk management, leader equipment and incident management.

Cost:  £120.00 (plus initial £30.00 SWMMLTS registration fee if not already registered.

Candidates must be registered on the South West scheme, be over 18, hold a current 16-hour first aid certificate and have completed a minimum of 40 days recent mountain or moorland walking experience.  Full details will be provided upon application – or please request a syllabus.

Delegates are required to equip themselves for walking/leading in a winter moorland environment and for an overnight camp in an emergency.
