Log into Self Service - Your council tax online

If you don't already have one, you will need to register an account, then our Self Service pages give you instant access to manage and view your Council Tax account.  You can also use Self Service to manage your Business Rates account and Housing Benefit or Council Tax Support.

Using Self Service can save you time, effort and money.  There is no need for you to visit us, ring us or write to us – you can view and manage your account on line at a time that suits you:

  • See full details of your account
  • How your charges are worked out
  • Check your discounts and allowances
  • See when your payments are due
  • View the bills we send to you online (paperless e-billing)
  • Set up a Direct Debit or make a payment
  • Notify the Council you are moving  

If you only want to pay without viewing any of your details or balance, you can pay council tax online here.  

Register for self service

To register for self service you will need to tell us :

  • Your account number, claim reference or Landlord creditor number (on your bill or benefit letter)
  • Your e-mail address
As you register for self service, you will be asked for an email address, username, password, security answer and to choose a service you would like to add.  An activation email will then be sent to your specified email address.  You will need to activate your account by clicking on the link within the email to verify your email address.  Once this has been done, your account will be activated and you are then able to add your accounts.

To confirm your identity, you will be asked questions about your council tax account (or your benefits or business rates account if registering for those).

Once you have given enough correct information, your account will be created and you will be able to access your details and sign up for e-billing.

If you are unable to provide enough information or if you don’t have all the details available a Personal Identification Number (PIN) is sent to you by post to the postal address we have registered for your account.

Please note only the account holder may request a PIN. Once your request has been submitted we will post you your secure PIN and details of how you can log-in and access your account online within 2 working days.

For security reasons we can't issue your PIN by email.
