Representatives from all three projects will be on hand throughout the day to provide information and listen to your views and comments.

Visitors to the Truro Placeshaping stand will also be invited to “design their own village” to help generate community led ideas for the emerging Langarth Garden Village masterplan. They can also be part of the first green shoots of Langarth Garden Village by decorating a tree label with their name. The labels will ultimately be attached to one of the many thousands of new trees due to be planted at Langarth as part of the Garden Village scheme.

“The next few months will be a very exciting time for Truro and its surrounding communities as masterplans are developed for the Pydar Street regeneration project and the new Langarth Garden Village” said Bob Egerton, Cornwall Council’s Cabinet portfolio holder for Planning and Economy.

“Work is also progressing on an update to the Truro and Kenwyn Neighbourhood Plan to ensure that it includes robust policies for the new developments coming forward for this area.”

“We want to see the creation of new vibrant and distinctive communities providing well designed housing which meet a variety of local needs and budgets at both Pydar and Langarth. With sustainable transport links promoting walking and cycling, innovative workspaces and cultural and leisure facilities set in high quality open spaces, creating places people want to live , work and thrive in“.

“We need the community to say how it wants these schemes to evolve and I would encourage everyone to visit the Truro Placeshaping stand on Truro Day and help shape the future of the city”.

There will be more opportunities to have your say at events over the autumn.  Keep an eye out for venues and dates on the Love Truro website.
