The ceremonies generally take place once a month and are organised by the Cornwall Registration Service.  At these ceremonies, new citizens, with their family and friends, are welcomed by the Lord-Lieutenant (or one of his deputies) and the Chairman (or Vice Chairman) of Cornwall Council.

The Lord-Lieutenant talks about Cornwall and reminds the new citizens of their rights and privileges and their responsibility to play their part in our community and society.  The Chairman describes the process of government in Cornwall and encourages new citizens to play their part in the democratic process.

The Lord-Lieutenant and Chairman are proud and privileged to play a part in this important event in people's lives.
