Changes to one stop shops

Reduced Government funding means we have to save £170m over the next four years. We are aiming to achieve this while still keeping our library infrastructure intact.

Bringing some one stop shops and libraries together will allow us to make savings while offering face to face services in all the towns that currently have them.

It will also mean that customers will be able to access more services from a single site. Some one stop shops already successfully share premises with libraries, so we already know that this works well.

In some cases there isn’t room to offer both library and one stop shop services at the same site, and in some of these areas the services are already located nearby each other.

Some of the very established one stop shops will also remain in their current locations.

We are working with our partners and will still be offering access to these services, although the day or time of their visits may change.  We will post details of these on the individual library pages as soon they are available.
