Employee support networks

Cornwall Council also facilitates the LGBTQ+ staff support network for employees across the public sector in Cornwall who identify as:

  • Lesbian
  • Gay
  • Bisexual
  • Transgender or
  • Questioning their gender identity or sexuality

The LGBTQ+ Forum is open to employees from Cornwall Council and its family of businesses, NHS, Devon and Cornwall Police, the Environment Agency.

The group is an information sharing forum. It provides a platform for the community to share ideas and concerns. It also enables members to seek peer support about any concerns they may have.

This group however is not all about consultation and engagement. There will be an element of discussion and sharing ideas around work related topics. The group will also share ideas around specific training needs for staff in:

  • understanding this community and
  • understanding the issues that affect LGBTQ+ people

The forum is self moderating and designed, led and developed by its members.

Relevant employees can access the group by following the steps below.
