We welcome applications from anyone interested in becoming an on-call firefighter. All shortlisted applicants will be invited to an assessment interview (regardless of whether there is a vacancy at the station or not). Suitable applicants will be invited to the (twice yearly) assessment centres and if successful they will be placed in the Talent Pool to be selected for progression to the Approved to Ride Course as and when an appropriate vacancy at their Fire Station arises

As well as responding to emergency 999 calls, the crew of Bude Community Fire Station participate largely in community fire support and home fire safety visits.  They frequently open the station to local schools and playgroups, as well as attending local schools for visits.  Each year they will attend local Parish Council meetings for the Parishes they provide emergency cover for and upon request, provide free home fire safety checks.  This includes exchanging useful and important advice, the testing and installation of smoke alarms, and seeking further advice if required.

Register for a free home fire safety check online or for more information about them, visit the fire safety page.
