The Fire Fighters Charity

About The Fire Fighters Charity

Every year, thousands of firefighters are injured whilst protecting the public. Every day in the UK, firefighters are called to incidents, putting their lives on the line.  Often sustaining physical injuries whilst carrying out their duties. The Fire Fighters Charity is here for all fire service personnel during their times of need.  It assists thousands of individuals every year, by providing pioneering treatment and support services.

It costs millions of pounds every year to keep the charity running.  With no government funding, they are completely reliant upon donations from the general public and fire community.

Last call for your empty crisp packets!

Since the Covid-19 pandemic, for safety reasons we stopped our Terracycle empty crisp packet recycling scheme
Good news: We are re-opening the scheme again for one last month during August, to allow you to drop off any saved packets you may have kept aside for us
Bad news: Our scheme is coming to an end on Monday 31 August 2020 but if you choose to keep recycling them, there are other drop off locations around the UK - view all the locations on this map.

Instructions for dropping off your donations to us:

  • Please ensure your donations reach us by Monday 31 August and ONLY contains crisp packets. We have to remove anything by hand that is not a crisp packet, so please NO sweet wrappers, NO Pringle tubes, NO popcorn bags and NO meat snack bags etc
  • Social distancing and station restrictions are still in place. Please check below to see which of our community fire stations in Cornwall are drop-off points before making your trip.
  • Ensure your donation is in a sealed plastic bag / sack or box

Now firmly established on the Charity’s annual event calendar, the National Car Wash is the Charity's largest national fundraising event of the year, and involves fire stations throughout the UK washing the nation’s cars, in exchange for a donation.

The event also gives firefighters the opportunity to meet a large cross-section of their community and promote important community and fire safety campaigns.

All car wash events will be added to the events web page and shared across our social media accounts.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service have helped to raise in region of  £64,132.46 for The Fire Fighters Charity during the past year, which is a fantastic amount of money.

All of our upcoming events will be advertised on the Service events page and shared across our social media accounts. We welome anyone that would like to fundraise in Cornwall for The Fire Fighters Charity and join / link your fundraiser to our JustGiving Team page.
