The Duke of Cornwall Community Safety Award was launched in 2012 and there are 3 awards to choose from depending on your age.

Home Community Safety Award

The Home Community Safety Award is aimed for those aged between 5 - 10 years of age.

Upon completion of the award, the individual will be able to demonstrate how they can be prepared at home and react to emergencies.

There are nine activities; the first two are compulsory and you must complete another four to gain the award

Neighbourhood Community Safety Award

The Neighbourhood Community Safety Award is aimed for those aged between 10 - 14 years of age.

Upon completion of the award, the individual will be able to demonstrate how they can assist within communities, such as checking on neighbours and vulnerable people and delivering information.

There are fifteen activities; the first three are compulsory and you must complete another five to gain the award.

Community Safety Award

The Community Safety Award is aimed for those aged between 14 - 18 years of age.

Upon completion of the award, the individual will be able to demonstrate how they can actively assist during and after an emergency. For example, helping at an evacuation centre or filling sandbags. 

There are five compulsory activities to gain the award.
