The aim of the One Public Transport System for Cornwall (OPTSfC) is to deliver and provide a fully integrated and sustainable public transport network. This is connected to the bus powers under the Bus Services Act 2017.

Further information about the delivery of this aspect of the Devolution Deal can be seen on the One Transport page.

Over £10.7m has been invested by operators into new buses during the last 12 months (2016-17), with additional new fleets planned for 2017/18 and 2019/20. The ability to use SMART ticketing and contactless payment options will begin in August 2017, with the new smart tickets able to be used on both trains and buses. Information on bus times is now ‘live’ and users will soon have the ability to use an on-line and mobile Transport Journey Planner, which includes the ability to buy a ticket.  We have a devolved budget of £126m which gives us the control to shape transport services more effectively to the needs of our residents and to make journeys less fragmented.

700,000 more people have started to use the bus network since improvements have been made in 2016.
