We are a law enforcement agency. We are responsible for forty Acts of parliament and over a thousand regulations. The work we do can affect all aspects of our lives; from toy safety to food allergens, and the accuracy of petrol pumps to farm animal welfare.

Our teams prioritise the protection of vulnerable consumers in our communities. We also work hard to maintain a fair and level playing field for businesses across Cornwall. Examples of our work include:

  • Investigating the supply of illegal tobacco and other age restricted goods to children.
  • Raising awareness of scams and supporting financial abuse victims.
  • Inspecting food businesses to check labelling and descriptions.
  • Checks on the safety of consumer goods.
  • Disrupting and prosecuting Rogue Traders.
