Cornwall Registration Service is following the guidelines provided by:

  • the Government
  • Public Health England (PHE)
  • the NHS

Please read the Council's information about Coronavirus page. This has links to the PHE and NHS webpages.

We recognise that this situation will change. As such, we are developing plans to respond to new advice from Government. We want to keep our communications as current as possible. To do this, we will be posting updates on our social media sites:

As we move forward over the following days and weeks we will update this information as appropriate.

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on 23 March 2020 all ceremonies were suspended. This was until social gathering restrictions could be lifted.

On 23 June, the Government announced that small marriage and civil partnership ceremonies could resume. Guidance was published earlier this week by the Government and our governing body, the General Register Office. We have worked our way through it to ensure we are complying with all of the new rules.  The guidance is very clear and will result in reduced capacity in our ceremony rooms.  We will be adhering to the recommended 2m distance between households. This is for the safety of our customers and the ceremony registrars.

For more information, please see the guidance below.
