Displaying a blue badge in a residents parking zone

If you live in a residents' parking zone and have a blue badge you must display your resident parking permit in your vehicle alongside your blue badge.

These permits are free and can be applied for using the Disabled Resident application form on the resident parking permit page.

Resident parking permits

Blue Badge holders who are not residents or do not have a permit are able to park for up to 3 hours in resident areas if they are displaying their Badge and clock.

Visitors who are blue badge holders

Blue Badge holders who are not also displaying a valid permit can park in a residents’ parking place for up to 3 hours.  They must

  • have the Blue Badge displayed
  • the clock set at the time of their arrival

If they are staying longer than 3 hours then you will need to provide them with:

  • visitor’s scratchcard permit to display in their vehicle or
  • make sure they have a valid electronic visitor’s permit
