Road markings and signage make a vital contribution to safety and traffic management. They can help to reduce negative effects on the environment.

Road markings and traffic signs are prescribed by ‘The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002’. National guidance on use is provided by the Department for Transport (DfT) within the ‘Traffic Signs Manuals’.Cornwall Council has its  own signing policies defined in our Direction Signing document.
