Cornwall Council has developed proposals to fully utilise the existing carriageway with the single carriageway section of the A30 being made into two lanes in both directions between Temple and Higher Carblake.
Junctions will be removed in favour of three separate bridges located at strategic locations along the improved route. The number of direct private accesses onto the A30 will be reduced.
Also, in this environmentally sensitive area, full regard has been given to ensure the new road fits into its surroundings and ecological enhancement and mitigation has been designed as required.
You can read the full details of the scheme in the Scheme Description June 2015
A visual overview of the proposed route can be viewed by clicking the play icon below.
The video is approximately ten minutes long and gives the viewer an idea of how the proposals will look when implemented, it shows a "drive" along the proposed improvement in both directions.
