Information and advice about public transport

Get the right ticket

Operators can offer a range of tickets beyond just that of standard ‘single’ or ‘return’ fares. Multiple journey tickets like Season tickets or Day Rover tickets can work out cheaper if you plan to travel multiple times. Ride Cornwall and PlusBus are also good options if your journey contains both Train and Bus travel.

A Devon and Cornwall railcard is available to residents of Cornwall, Devon and the Isles of Scilly, who are over 16. This gives 1/3rd off train fares within the two counties for £10 every 12 months and up to 4 children (5-15) can travel for a flat fare of £1 each (£2 for a Day Ranger). The railcard can be used to give a discount on the St Ives Park and Ride

  • Some operators provide discounted travel for certain groups of passengers when travelling on their services. You may need to pay an upfront fee to join the scheme but if you use the services regularly it could be that the membership will be covered by the savings by the end of eligibility.
  • If you are of pensionable age or disabled, you may also be entitled to a English National Concessionary Fares Pass. Check your eligibility and find out how to apply.
  • Operators may offer discounted travel for younger travellers, some allowing under 5s to travel free with an accompanied adult. Please check with the individual operator.
