Buses in Cornwall

Services in Cornwall are either operated commercially or subsidised by Cornwall Council. As a rough guide, about 50% of all bus services are run under contract to Cornwall Council and these services undertake some 4 million passenger journeys a year. There are over 10 million bus journeys made on all local services in Cornwall each year.

The majority of bus routes are operated by First Kernow, but there are a further 21 other operators providing various services within the County. View a list of current bus operators.

Some services only operate when Schools and/or Colleges are open. These are marked on a timetable as SD or CD but for full details contact the operator or visit Traveline South West. View term dates for schools in Cornwall.

Paper copies of First, Stagecoach and Citybus' (Go! Cornwall) timetables are available from the operators directly. However for all other services, including ferry services, a general public transport guide is available from Tourist Information Centres, Libraries, Main Bus Stations and One Stop Shops. Cornwall Council maintains a network of bus stops and shelters across the County. Town and Parish Councils are able to apply to the Council for possible funding for additional bus shelters..
