Go: what to do just before your new service starts

1. Start filling your new bins

You'll need to start filling your new food waste caddies and rubbish bin or sack after we've made your last weekly rubbish collection on the current service. This will be the week before your new service starts.

2. Double check your new collection day

Most people's collection day will change when their new service starts, so make sure you double check yours.

You can either

  • check your new Collections Calendar, which we'll post out to you just before the new service is due to start in your area.

Or

  • you can go the My Area section of our website and enter your address to see your property information.

You should now only be able to see your new collection schedule with your dates for collections on the new service.

Make sure you check to see if your first collection is weekly food waste with fortnightly recycling, or weekly food waste with fortnightly rubbish.

3. Make sure you recycle everything you can

To fit all your rubbish in your bin with the lid closed you will need to recycle all your food waste and all your cardboard, glass, plastics, cans, paper and textiles.
