Cornwall Park Home Forum Open Meeting

People living in park home sites across Cornwall have joined together to set up a new Forum to enable them to work together more closely and share information and best practice. The suggestion to set up a Park Homes Residents’ Forum was initially discussed at two events staged by Cornwall Council for park home residents at Heartlands and Bodmin when more than 150 people from sites across Cornwall met with Cornwall Councillors and officers.

Since then Council officers have been working to further improve links for park home residents. Initiatives include a ‘resident’s guide’ leaflet and the development of a new webpage on the Council’s website. Officers have also provided information on changes in legislation and organised a pilot scheme to help improve insulation in a number of homes.

On 30 June 2014 the inaugural meeting and AGM of the Cornwall Park Home Residents' Forum was held in the Community Centre at St Erme.  At the meeting the following was agreed:

  • A resident-led forum should be established to support all park home residents in Cornwall
  • The draft constitution be adopted by the forum
  • A committee of park home residents be elected to form the very first committee and help get the forum up and running.

The committee are now meeting and starting to get themselves organised to send out an introductory letter to all park home residents in Cornwall and encourage people to become part of the forum.  Letters will also go out to all Cornwall Councillor and MPs.
