Our advice service is primarily available by phone and internet.  Our on-line housing options service known as ‘Your Housing Options’ can be found at www.housingoptionscornwall.co.uk.  By answering some questions about your situation you can have a personalised housing options action plan to suit your own circumstances without having to speak to an advisor.  Once you enter your details you will be able to view and follow your comprehensive and informative personal action plan on line or you can print a copy.  If you don’t have access to a computer you can speak to one of our advisors on the phone and they will complete the ‘Your Housing Options’ online assessment with you.

If your circumstances are urgent and you need an appointment with a housing options advisor, we will arrange this with you.  You may have to wait a little while depending upon any other emergencies on that day, but you will be seen on that day.

Appointments will normally be arranged in the following Cornwall Council offices: Penzance, Camborne, Truro, St Austell, Wadebridge or Liskeard.

If you just drop-in to our offices without an appointment we may not be able to see you and you will be signposted to our on-line or telephony services.

Accessibility: We have an interpreter service for customers who are limited English speakers

 

Out of hours: You can access a wide range of services via this website using our easy to use reporting form or via email.  The email address is given with the phone numbers on this page. 

You can also access Housing Options information at a number of Cornwall Council libraries, some of which are open on Saturday mornings.  Freephones and free internet access are also available at some of these locations.  Locations and opening hours of libraries and One Stop Shops can be found by entering your location post code in the 'My Local Area' section on the right hand side of this page.

If you are homeless in an emergency out of office hours, please telephone 0300 1234 161.

To make sure that all customers can access our offices we have:

  • Lowered reception desk counter areas so that wheelchair user customers have access
  • Seating available in reception for disabled and elderly visitors who are waiting to be seen
  • Toilet facilities in reception that are fully accessible for customers with disabilities
  • Hearing loop in reception areas
  • Portable hearing loop for use in any of the reception private rooms
  • Private rooms available that are clearly signed
