Community Get Active Challenge

Time to get active and challenge your community

Residents in Bodmin, Wadebridge and Padstow are being asked to sign up for a pilot community activity project called the Get Active Challenge.

We’re looking for people living in those communities to challenge friends and neighbours to join up in teams of three for a 6 week challenge. The aim is to compete against other teams to see who can do the most activity. The activity levels are then converted into miles travelled against an interactive map of Cornwall’s coastline.

Teams will be encouraged to use local facilities to help them in their challenge – but it’s not all about being a gym bunny. The Camel Trail in Bodmin can be used for walking and running as well as on bike. Or head along to the Friends of Camel Trail volunteering day to get some exercise while helping maintain the trail.

The challenge aims to increase your current levels of activity, so in week one you can try walking with the aim of running by week 6! But any activity counts towards your goal, including housework and gardening.

You can find out more and get a free pedometer on a first come first served basis, by popping in to one of our pre-registration events: (times to be confirmed)
