Children's Social Care
The Adoption Service recruit, assess, train and support adopters and offer a support service to birth parents. The Adoption Panel are responsible for approving adopters and recommending the matching of children to adoption. The Panel sits every two weeks in Truro.

Children in Care
The Children in Care Service comprises of the following:
All three services are county wide and provide resources to the District Child Care Teams and the children, young people and families who need their input.
In short the Foster Care and Short Break Service and the Residential Service roles are to provide high quality placements and care that meet the varying needs of all children and young people in care requiring their input.
The role of the Children in Care Development team is to enhance and improve services for children and young people in care in all areas of their lives which are essentially covered by the Every Child Matters Objectives and the Healthy Care Programme.
