Safeguarding Adults Training

"All persons have the right to live their lives free from violence and abuse" (Safeguarding Adults, 2005)

If you are someone who works in health, social care and related services, either as a paid worker or volunteer, you have a role to play in promoting the rights of people who use services and safeguarding them from, harm or neglect.

Those new to safeguarding should start by taking the Safeguarding Adults Core 1 e-learning, which has been updated to include safeguarding requirements from the Care Act 2014.

There are also a number of face to face courses available which include:

  • Safeguarding Adults - Core 2
  • Safeguarding Adults - Core 3
  • Mental Capacity Act
  • Self Neglect

To find out more about these courses and to book onto them please visit the Freebird Associates website. If you would like advice or further information about the training courses please contact Freebird Associates on or call Corinne Leverton 07903135141 or Anna Elwood 07541041386.

In 2013, The Safeguarding Adults Board in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly commissioned a 3-minute introduction to safeguarding DVD. It was co-produced by Social Care Learning and Development, Cornwall Rural Community Council and people who use social care services. You can view the Safeguarding Adults film on YouTube (a subtitled version of the film is also available) and copies are available from us.
