E-learning packages available - Free to the Social Care Sector

E-learning can give you the freedom and flexibility to learn when and where you want and at your own pace. This can be particularly useful if you work irregular hours or shifts or have other commitments which make it difficult for you to attend a regular course.

Adult Commissioning Learning and Development are committed to providing flexible learning opportunities and have purchased or commissioned a number of e-learning packages from providers such as Kwango, Skill Boosters and Cylix. They are designed to provide an introduction to:

These are first level, introductory packages and are aimed at people who are new to the subject and have no previous knowledge. We have met the cost of these packages so there will be no charge for their use.

All of the above e-learning courses are now available on the Cornwall Council Learning Hub.

If you already use the Learning Hub because you work for Cornwall Council or any arms length organisations then you do not need to re-register for login details.  You can find the above courses by clicking on the learning and development icon on your desktop, selecting "my development" on the Learning Hub homepage and then clicking on the Adult Commissioning Learning and Development link.

If you would like to register for the Cornwall Council Learning Hub to access the Social Care e-learning provided by ACLD then please email acld@cornwall.gov.uk stating your fullname, organisation, type of organisation (eg. Care at Home or LD Residential Care Home etc.), telephone number and email address. We aim to respond within 7 days.

A userguide has also been created for the Wider Sector Workforce, for a copy please email a request to acld@cornwall.gov.uk.

We will continue to subscribe to the Scils website. The Social Care Information and Learning Services (Scils) website provides a wide range of learning and development solutions for staff throughout social care and health. Many of the services are available on-line when and where needed and a range of learning materials such as handouts, printable documents to read and policy updates can be downloaded. Please use the link below for information on passwords to access the Scils resources:
