About Grow Nature

Thank you for taking the time to find out more about Environmental Growth.

You can also subscribe to our newsletter if you want to get the latest updates.

From the air we breathe to the food we eat, nature sustains us. It is the basis of our economy and the foundation for a happy, healthy society. Without nature we cannot survive.

Sadly, nature is in decline. In Cornwall, the expanding human population has consumed land and resources, and released pollutants at a rate that the environment cannot tolerate. Modern day life and modern day attitudes have led to unprecedented change and dramatic losses. Once common species of wildlife are now rare and once cherished places have disappeared.

We need to restore and revitalize nature so that it can support us into the future. This website is full of ideas and inspiration to help you grow the environment.

Just protecting what we have is not enough, we need your help to grow nature. The good news is that we can all do something to help

What is Environmental Growth?

Environmental Growth is about increasing the amount and quality of environmental goods and services for the benefit of everyone in society.  Environmental goods include things like food, fuel, water, timber and other raw materials, whilst services include pollination, climate regulation, soil formation, and waste disposal.

Environmental Growth means creating the space and conditions for more abundant, productive and healthier habitats, species and natural systems.  These, in turn, improve the lives of people.

The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Nature Partnership

Cornwall's Environmental Growth Strategy 2015 to 2065 was constructed as a collaborative effort between Cornwall Council and the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Nature Partnership (LNP).

The LNP is an informal Partnership of those who are working to maintain the special and unique environment of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

The LNP considers the environment in its broadest sense and draws expertise from a wide range of sectors, including the environment, health and wellbeing, education, and the economy.
