The Bude-Stratton Neighbourhood Development Plan is now formally made and can be used from 28 June 2017, as part of the development plan in development management decisions in the Bude-Stratton Neighbourhood Plan Area. The adopted neighbourhood plan, report and decision notice is available to download below:

The Referendum for the Bude - Stratton Neighbourhood Development Plan was held on Thursday 4 May 2017. The Plan was successful at Referendum and the result was:

  • Number cast in favour of a 'Yes' : 2669
  • Number cast in favour of a 'No' : 377

The Bude-Stratton Neighbourhood Development Plan was submitted for examination on 1 November 2016. The independent examiner appointed to carry out the examination was John Slater. Mr Slater held a public hearing on 13 December 2016 and recommended that the plan meets the Basic Conditions subject to a number of modifications. The Council’s decision was to accept the proposed modifications and approve the Plan. Bude-Stratton Town Council formally submitted their plan proposal to Cornwall Council on 25th February 2016 for their designated Neighbourhood Development Plan Area, in accordance with the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012.

Cornwall Council consulted residents and other interested stakeholders on the plan proposal for the Bude-Stratton Parish area. The consultation ran from 18 August to 29 September 2016. Hard copies of the documents were available to view in Bude Library and One Stop Shop, The Crescent Post Office, Stratton Post Office and Bude-Stratton Town Council Offices during the consultation period.  

The plan proposal includes a copy of a map and statement which identifies the area to which the proposed Neighbourhood Development Plan relates; the proposed Neighbourhood Development Plan, a consultation statement; a statement explaining how the proposed Neighbourhood Development Plan meets the requirements of paragraph 8 of Schedule 4B to the 1990 Act (the Basic Conditions Statement), a Strategic Environmental Assessment Screening report, a Sustainability checklist document and an Evidence base document.Copies of  the documents are available to download below:

Bude-Stratton Town Council submitted an application and map to designation their Neighbourhood Area. Cornwall Council consulted residents and other interested stakeholders on the designation between 22 November 2012 and 10 January 2013. Copies of the application letter and statement that explains how the Town Council and Neighbourhood Area met the conditions of Section 61G(2) of the Town And Country Planning Act 1990, were made available to view at Bude Library and One Stop Shop during the six week consultation.
