Cornwall Council has two distinct roles in respect of the delivery the Eco-community, one as the planning authority, we will decide upon planning applications.  The second is as the facilitator to enable the West Carclaze and Baal Eco-community as identified in the St Austell, St Blazey and China Clay Area Regeneration Plan and the emerging Cornwall Local Plan.

On these pages you will find information about how the public sector is working to bring forward the Eco-communities projects.

The St Austell and Clay Country Eco-communities proposal is one of four nationally recognised Eco Town developments established by the Labour Government to support new settlements demonstrating low carbon living.
