The countryside asset covers approximately 1273 hectares and includes many natural green spaces across Cornwall. These include local nature reserves, such as those at Par, Seaton, Bude and Bodmin and the Country parks, at Tehidy and Kit Hill. Our public rights of way include 4300km of footpaths and bridleways, and 200km of multi use trails such as the Camel and Mineral Tramway Trails. We work with local communities to manage these sites for people, landscape and wildlife.
Based upon the recognition that environment and heritage are cornerstones of prosperity and well-being in Cornwall, the over-riding commitment of the Service is:
'To recognise Cornwall's natural and historic environment; its strong culture, heritage and local distinctiveness; and conserve these for the benefit of the community.'
