Transfer to a KS4 School September 2018

Cornwall does not have any KS4 establishments such as University Technical Colleges (UTCs) or Studio Schools, however, parents living in Cornwall may wish to apply for their child to transfer from year 8 or year 9 to start in a UTC or Studio School in another county, such as those in Plymouth listed here:

UTC Plymouth

UTC Plymouth is a specialist educational environment for 14-19 year olds offering a chance to focus on science, technology, engineering and maths subjects integrated with core national curriculum studies.

Plymouth Studio School

Plymouth Studio School is a school for 14 – 19 year olds which specialises in sport.

Scott College

Scott College is a small school from Year 9 to Year 13 year group which has a medicine, social and health care specialism.

University Technical Colleges offer a unique opportunity where education and business come together to equip students with the skills that are already in high demand in the city and beyond.

Studio Schools are a new type of school model for 14-19 year olds designed to equip them with the skills, knowledge and experience they need to succeed in work. Studio Schools offer a bold new approach to learning by teaching through enterprise projects and work placements with key local and regional employers. This approach ensures students' learning is aligned to the real world of work, helping them to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to succeed and that employers are asking for. Students can apply to join to study at Key Stage 4 (year 10) and at Post 16.

How do I apply?
