This project builds upon the successes of previous village enhancement and mine restoration works completed in recent years in Calstock parish and the surrounding area.  It was developed in close association with the Tamar Valley AONB office and has enabled much needed restoration works to be undertaken on several mine sites, further development of a trails network and the construction of the new Tamar Visitor Centre at Drakewalls, Gunnislake as well as marketing and promotion of the area. These works, valued at just over £2 million are aimed at supporting the local community by enhancing the amenity and landscape quality of this most recently created Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
