Santa's Grotto Falmouth
5, 12, 19 December ~ 5:30 - 830pm
39 High Street, Falmouth TR11 2AF - opposite Brewery Yard
Last December, White Watch from Falmouth Community Fire Station
attended an incident involving a large man, dressed in red and
stuck upside down in a chimney. When the crew arrived they were
greeted with a scene of confusion, which included reindeer on the
roof of a house and an abandoned sleigh full of presents. Not quite
believing what they were seeing, they quickly realised that this
would probably be one of the most important rescues of their
careers. So, they quickly climbed up a ladder onto the roof, where
they heard the desperate pleas for help coming from within the
chimney. After a lot pushing and pulling, the firefighters quickly
freed the big man, who introduced himself as Santa!
Before leaving to deliver his sack load of presents, Santa
promised the firefighters that he would return to the town and help
them raise some money for The Fire Fighters Charity, as special thanks for
their help that night.
So almost a year on, Falmouth firefighters have been hard at
work preparing Santa's Grotto in time for his first appearance
which took place on Thursday 28 November. Santa will be around
during the late night shopping events taking place in Falmouth on
5, 12, and 19 December from 5:30pm - 08:30 pm. Entry is FREE with
all donations going to The Fire Fighters Charity so do come and
