There are two ways you can make a Building Regulation
application, either by making a Full Plans application or by submitting a
Building Notice notification. To find out more
about these two methods, follow the links in the menu on the
left.
Application forms
If you have completed work for which an application should have
been submitted you can apply for a regularisation
certificate. Again, further information is available from the
menu below.
Charges
Charges are payable for all types of applications unless the
work provides facilities for disabled persons.
Domestic standard charges
Non domestic standard charges
Our charges are set on a cost recovery basis and there are
standard charges which cover most types of building
work. If your project falls outside of the standard types or
includes charges from several tables please contact the
charges team for an individually assessed charge.

Important information - transfer of private
drains
On 1 October 2011, the responsibility for many private sewers
and lateral drains which drain to a public sewer and extend beyond
your property boundary transferred to water and sewerage
companies. This change in legislation may affect your
building regulation application and you are advised to contact
South West Water prior to making an application or starting
work. Further information is available on the South
West Water website
