Mount Edgcumbe is the proud recipients of a
New Holland TN75 tractor donated to them by The Friends of Mount
Edgcumbe House and Country Park.
The shiny new tractor, with a front end loader, will be used
around the park in the gardens and across the Deer Park to help the
gardeners and rangers make the best of this stunning landscape.
Gordon Crocker, Chair of the Friends of Mount Edgcumbe, said “It
gives me great pleasure to present this tractor to the Joint
Committee to assist the staff in maintaining the Park for the
benefit of all. The Friends are committed to supporting the
Joint Committee in the management of Mount Edgcumbe and are working
with the management team on other projects as well.”
Peter Smith, Deputy Leader of Plymouth City Council and Co-Chair
of the Mount Edgcumbe Joint Committee said “The Joint Committee are
grateful to the Friends of Mount Edgcumbe for their unstinting
support for the Park. This tractor is a valuable addition to
the Parks inventory and will be put to good use. Over the
last 26 years, The Friends of Mount Edgcumbe have supported the
Park with many projects that have made Mount Edgcumbe a better
place.”
George Trubody, Cornwall Council ward member for the Rame
Peninsular and Co-Chair of the Mount Edgcumbe Joint Committee said:
“This donation is very much appreciated by the Joint Committee and
confirms yet again the Friends commitment to making Mount Edgcumbe
a better place. The Friends do a tremendous amount of work to
support the Park, not only with the purchase of equipment like
this, but also by providing the bulk of volunteers who work in all
areas of the Park supporting the staff and welcoming
visitors. We look forward to working with them in 2013.”
